Hey! Guess what? I’m really moving! You can click in me above or go to lifesignatures.org and you will see my new site. What a journey getting it up! I don’t have bunches of time in one sitting to work on it so it’s taken a lot longer. And of course one can never anticipate the frustrating, nerve-racking, obstacles that pop up here and there. I think giving birth was less painful.
It’s not perfect, not all links are working, the content was imported from this blog so the photos are sized incorrectly, I still have widget work to do but hey, I’ve never been accused of being perfect.
In any event, visit me there! I’m excited!
Thank you Fifi for the wonderful drawing of me! And thank you John at Sozo Designs for helping me with my CSS and my plugins. I’m not in love with my header but hey, July is coming up soon…
UPDATE: (June 25, 5:52 am) The saying goes, “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.” I can’t say anything nice about my hosting company. So I’m not saying anything at all.
UPDATE: (June 24, 5:35 pm) The propagation didn’t work. Why? Because the PHP script on my hosting account is not working. So I’ve been told. So I was able to make a couple of cute little graphic changes while they work it out. Because I have no idea what’s going on. But I like the new site, I do. Can’t wait for you to see it! In the meantime, here’s some photos I took today.
She’s adorable!
Here’s one of the show. I wish I got to see more today, too busy.
And here’s one of Miss Deb, groovin’ for God. She’s pretty athletic you know.
I guess I’ll let you know when the PHP script is working…

On a whim I decided to move my domain and configure the DNS to a new “look” that I’ve been working on little by little over the last couple of months. I’m not sure what all of that means but I think you be able to find me at www.lifesignatures.org. I’m not at all ready over there. I feel like I’m having guests over but I haven’t gotten dinner started or cleaned the toilets yet.
Why I am doing this task-intensive project this week of all weeks is beyond me. I have no control, I’m a glutton for punishment. This is the week when 650 kids descend upon our church campus for vacation bible school on steroids. And I’m running the registration database with which I’m not all that familiar. The only photo I took today was of the bus driver’s braided hair. I’ve been fascinated with tattoos lately and now my fascination has turned to man braids. I asked his permission, no worries.
I’m getting photos tomorrow, even if it kills me, and it just might.
Anyway, once the domain propagates throughout the vast world wide web, you can see me there. I will no longer post here, in my starter home. It holds such great memories for me.
Today one of my favorite sites, Shutter Sisters asked us to showcase the artist in our lives.
One of the most creative people I know is our Youth Pastor, Mark. Mark is a talented videographer, photographer and graphic artist. However, where he is most talented is loving and challenging our youth. I owe Mark a huge debt of gratitude for the program he runs. My kids are the direct recipients of his generous spirit.
Last year, a group of youths did a skit that makes me cry and cry again. The skit is about pain and rescue. These are community youths, the kids of my friends and my neighbors. They put on the most moving skit I have ever seen done by kids of this age. Thank you Mark for being their mentor, leader and example.
but not by me. I’m continuing my public service today by telling you about this opportunity.
I meant to do this before I left last weekend and didn’t have time and the deadline is midnight tomorrow so perhaps I’m doing you a disservice by writing this.
Maya, over at Springtree Road is giving away a wonderful children’s book signed by the author Dallas Clayton. I’m a fan of giving children all the books they can read because when they become teenagers, it will be all about the opposite sex.
If you really loved your kids, you would move to a Muslim country where the biggest show on television was some guy teaching physics during prime time. Hey it worked for me. During that four year period of living in Algeria, I read the entire Narnia Chronicles, four times, the Iliad and Odyssey, War and Peace and Les Miserable, in French. There was no Disney channel, no American Idol and no American football.
Sometimes I wish for the old days…especially when life around here revolves around Monk.
Go over to Springtree Road and check it out. Maya is my internet BFF. You can find her link on my left column.
I was gone on a youth ski retreat with high-schoolers from my church last weekend . I wrote this post about the husband tiling the kids’ bathroom floor, then I left. While I was gone, a couple of neighbors came over to see what they thought was a project in production during my absence. Anyway, ’tis not the case. The husband said I should not put things on the world wide web that may not happen. Well, if it wasn’t going to happen, I wouldn’t have said it, but it is going to happen. Through the wonders of internet nagging.
Which brings me to my point. Today the husband called a friend to help with the kids’ bathroom tiling project. It so happens that his friend was at the liquor store because it’s dollar days. One dollar over the wholesale price.
So the husband headed over to the liquor store to check it out. I just wanted to pass along this public service message. It’s the one by the Giant. Go over there and get what you want, you’ll find all your friends over there. It ends tomorrow I think so better be quick! Then come back and help the husband with the bathroom, please.
I love this site. It is an endless source of inspiration for me. I have a sense of community with fellow photographers and I am still insecure wearing that mantle.
Below are my entries for this week’s contest.
For the kids entry ~ Little Maria, who looked at me with great wonder and curiosity.
For the adult entry ~ beautiful Neighbor Janet. She is exactly how she looks, friendly, down-to-earth, and lovely.
You should go over there and see what all the fuss is about.
We seem to be apart a lot on the holidays and this one is no different. Although we’re not together today, you are on my mind and in my heart on this Valentine’s Day. Thanks for being taking care of me, for loving me, and for being my sweetheart. Thank you for being my partner in life. And thank you for making me tea every night.
Yesterday, I taught my last class at this facility.
I’ve taught here for the last three years or more…next week, we are moving to a new facility…
I’m bittersweet about the whole thing. Hopefully we will keep our intimate feel. No big bruising body builders, just normal people who are trying to stay as healthy as they can, like me. I know the general exercise room will be bigger and better and perhaps the HVAC system will work, that would be nice.
